Why Build Bloggertizer?
It's interesting me to understand the genesis of ideas, and since I'm egotistical, I figure you might want to know the story behind Bloggertizer.
About a month ago I launched a new site, [shamelessplug]Tizags Online Bookmarking[/shamelessplug]. I wanted to market it by getting bloggers to write a brief reviews containing keyword targeted text links back to the site.
When I searched, a few sites kept turning up: PayPerPost, Smorty, and Blogsvertise were the main ones. Sign up as a blogger and they would match you with advertisers wanting posts. You write the posts and get paid. As an advertiser, you register and submit your proposal. Once the article is done and posted, you pay the service and they in turn paid the blogger (keeping a cut for themselves).
Seemed good for advertisers, but... personally, if a post on my blog sells for $10, I like to get the whole $10, not $7 for me and $3 to some service who hooked me up.
The idea bulb (albeit a dim, low wattage one) went off and I thought: "How about a site where bloggers and advertisers can hook up, work out their own deals, and the blogger gets to keep EVERYTHING he earns."
So I took the custom programming I did for the Tizags site and modified for Bloggertizer, the main changes being:
custom script to do live stat lookups on the blogs
private messaging system to keep member emails private to the public
rating system to keep people honest
The best part? Bloggertizer is totally free, for both the advertiser and blogger.
If you own a blog, and are willing to accept advertising on it and want to earn some extra money, you should register and add it.
If you're an advertiser, I've worked hard to make it easy for you to find blogs in your niche.
Try it out and let me know what you think!
